Biography
Jeremy Tasch is Towson University鈥檚 first interdisciplinary hire in global studies. He came to
Towson from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, where he helped create the university鈥檚
first geography and environmental studies department and first undergraduate degree
program in international studies. From 2009-2013 Jeremy was a principal investigator
on a five-country, NSF-funded study on the human dimensions of climate change in the
Arctic. A recipient of three Fulbright awards to the Russian Far East, the Kyrgyz
Republic, and the Republic of Azerbaijan, he previously served as chief-of-mission
for an international NGO in Azerbaijan, where he helped create the first multi-institution
educational center and American library, funded by the U.S. Department of State. Jeremy
has received several competitive research and educational grants, and his publications
touch on themes of political ecology, critical geopolitics, and 鈥渢erritorial Imaginaries.鈥
